CloudBrain came out of a concrete problem: notes matter most when you are not at your computer. Instead of one more app to open, we put the brain on a server and made it answer wherever you already are. That is the difference from other second brains like Mem, Reflect or Notion AI, which stay inside another app, or from enterprise search tools like Onyx, which search a company's own systems but do not answer on your own WhatsApp number: here the answer arrives wherever you already write, with the source cited.
CloudBrain started in mid-July 2026: the web chat and the Telegram bot shipped the day after the first commit, and within a week came the MCP server — a way to let an agent like Claude read your own notes, with sources cited instead of a generic answer.
The next step was obvious: notes matter more when you are not at your computer. On 23 July came WhatsApp — with OTP on CloudBrain's own number, or on your own with BYON — and in September, answer pages and the Obsidian plugin on the store.
Today the same archive answers from three channels — web, Telegram, WhatsApp — and every answer cites the source it comes from.
Markdown notes sync in full, except the paths you exclude (ignore list and denylist). Documents sync only from the folders you choose.
Not “according to your notes” in general: the exact file name or link the answer comes from.
You export everything into a file downloadable for 48 hours, or delete the account with seven days to change your mind.
Syncing outward is opt-in per folder, with filters applied before writing: not the whole vault, by default.
OCR on images runs locally. No image ever leaves the server to be described by a third-party model.
On 13 July 2026: the first line of CloudBrain's code.
shippedThe day after, the same search becomes reachable from a browser or a Telegram bot, groups included.
shippedOn 20 July: an agent like Claude can read the vault's notes and cite the source in its answer.
shippedOn 23 July: WhatsApp became available with OTP on CloudBrain's own number, and anyone who wants can connect a number of their own (BYON).
shippedAnswers shaped like a table or a document become a web page with a link valid for 24 hours, and the Obsidian plugin (0.3.2) reaches the official store.
